Job Title: Landscape Architect Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Landscape Architect Assoicate to join our team in working with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). This individual will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing landscape and greening projects for LAUSD, ensuring that all plans are aligned with organizational goals and technical standards.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in landscape architectural design on commercial or public projects (school/university projects preferred).
Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong skills in computer office software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.).
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
Valid California State Board Landscape Architect license.
Experience in the construction industry, preferably with educational/public works projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Revit, Rhino, and Lumion software.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, design, and certify plans and specifications related to landscape, irrigation systems, grading, and greening projects for LAUSD.
Supervise the preparation of drawings and specifications for both new and existing landscape projects.
Collaborate with LAUSD design managers, engineers, and architects on landscape and greening projects.
Coordinate project plans with LAUSD technical staff, school principals, teachers, and non-profit groups.
Manage project aspects such as scope of work, cost estimates, materials selection, and delivery methods.
Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with LAUSD policies and procedures.
Review and approve design service proposals, specifications, drawings, and grant application documents.
Oversee and negotiate task orders, ensuring all projects meet budget and timeline requirements.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong design skills with a passion for creativity.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of planting design, materials, and the technical aspects of landscape architecture.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in construction administration and coordinating with civil, electrical, and structural engineers.
