Brightwild is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Landscaping to lead and oversee the maintenance and development of our outdoor spaces. This role is integral to ensuring that our properties maintain the highest standards of aesthetic appeal and functionality. The Director of Landscaping will manage all aspects of landscape maintenance, gardening, irrigation, landscape design, and general landscaping tasks. This is a hands-on position that requires coordinating with and leading crew members to achieve efficient, high-quality results.
The salary range will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
What You'll Do
- Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate landscaping staff, providing clear instructions and guidance to ensure optimal performance
- Project Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee landscaping projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard
- Horticulture Management: Utilize a strong understanding of plant species and their care to maintain and improve the aesthetic quality of the landscape
- Maintenance Oversight: Oversee general landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, and mulching
- Irrigation Management: Monitor and manage irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water usage and healthy plant growth
- Landscape Design: Work with the team to develop and implement landscape design plans that enhance property aesthetics and functionality
- Equipment Management: Manage the use and maintenance of landscaping equipment, ensuring proper use and safety standards are met
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and adhere to industry standards to protect the crew, clients, and properties
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, and landscaping
- Strong knowledge of plant species, their care, and best horticultural practices
- Expertise in irrigation and landscape design
- Ability to manage equipment and perform hands-on work
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Strong physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field
- Previous experience in a leadership role within the landscaping industry
