As a Landscape Crew Laborer, you will be involved in a variety of outdoor tasks that contribute to the creation and maintenance of beautiful landscapes. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform landscaping tasks with a high level of skill and professionalism, including mowing, edging, trimming, mulching, and planting.
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and sprinkler heads.
- Assist in the installation of hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and landscape lighting.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and small machinery, with proficiency and safety.
- Assist in the design, layout, and planting of flower beds, trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants.
- Supervise and mentor entry-level laborers, providing guidance and ensuring that all tasks are completed to company standards.
- Ensure that work sites are clean and organized, and all equipment is properly maintained.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring that all safety standards are met on the job site.
- Communicate with crew leader and other team members to ensure work is completed on time and according to client specifications.
- Handle client requests and questions with professionalism and courtesy.
- Assist with inventory management of materials and supplies.
- Assist in the training of new employees and offer ongoing guidance for skill development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the crew leader or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in landscaping or a related field.
- Proficiency in operating landscaping tools and equipment (e.g., mowers, blowers, trimmers, skid steers, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of plant types, landscape design principles, and proper horticultural practices.
- Experience with irrigation systems, including installation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and designs.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle outdoor tasks with consistency.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic landscaping equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Leadership qualities, with a desire to take on responsibility and mentor others.
- Valid driver’s license (a commercial driver’s license may be required for some positions).
