Senior Operations Manager
Reports to: Area Manager
Summary:
The Senior Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Operations Managers and field crews. Acting as the right hand to the Area Manager, this individual ensures seamless execution of landscape maintenance operations while driving safety, quality, and efficiency. The Senior Operations Manager must maintain a deep understanding of field activities, providing leadership, structure, and accountability to ensure all teams perform at their highest level.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Oversee and mentor Operations Managers, ensuring they are effectively managing their teams and meeting company standards
- Provide ongoing training, professional development, and performance feedback
- Develop high-potential employees and create a pipeline for leadership roles
- Operational Execution & Efficiency:
- Ensure all crews have structured daily plans and are operating efficiently
- Monitor field operations to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Conduct site visits to ensure quality control and provide in-field coaching when necessary
- Work closely with Operations Managers to refine scheduling and resource allocation for maximum efficiency
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce all company safety policies and conduct regular safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with Federal DOT regulations for all vehicles and equipment
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in field operations
- Client Satisfaction & Quality Control:
- Ensure consistent communication between Area Manager, Operations Teams, Account Managers, and clients
- Monitor work quality and proactively address client concerns
- Identify enhancement service opportunities and coordinate with Account Managers
- Financial & Resource Management:
- Maintain fiscal responsibility by ensuring budgets are met and cost efficiencies are realized
- Review and approve timesheets in Aspire software
- Ensure preventive maintenance and repair of all equipment are tracked and managed
- Assist in workforce planning and recruitment efforts to meet seasonal demands
- Snow & Seasonal Operations:
- Play an active leadership role in snow operations, overseeing multiple sites and ensuring efficient execution
- Support the team in the field when necessary, particularly during peak seasons
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in landscaping operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance best practices, including turf management, plant health, and seasonal considerations
- Experience managing and developing teams at multiple levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Aspire Labor Management Software, or willingness to develop proficiency
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Obtain and Maintain DOT Medical Card
Work Conditions:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Shifts may include extended periods of walking and standing
- Exposure to outdoor elements including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold weather
