Job Title: Green Wall Technician (w/ basic plumbing, carpentry, and horticultural knowledge)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Green Wall Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing and maintaining vertical green walls, with knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and horticulture. This role involves extensive travel to various job sites, requiring you to work at heights and ensure the proper setting up of green walls, irrigation, and supporting structures. You will also be responsible for performing basic plumbing and carpentry tasks and troubleshooting any issues with the systems. The technician will need to be adaptable and ready to work in different environments across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain vertical green walls, including irrigation, structural framing, and plant material.
- Assemble and install structural framing, plant panels (flexipanels), and irrigation systems.
- Perform basic plumbing tasks related to irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water flow and system maintenance.
- Perform basic low voltage electrical wiring and sensor connections.
- Work at various heights with various lifts, scaffolding and ladders to install systems safely and securely, following all safety protocols.
- Conduct site assessments, ensure all materials and equipment are ready, and manage logistical coordination for remote or diverse installation sites.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with irrigation, plant systems, and structural components.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, adjusting irrigation systems, plant replacement and tending to plant health.
- Professionally collaborate with onsite contractor teams, Project Manager and SGS crew team to ensure installations meet specific requirements.
- Conduct walk through with clients and provide post-installation care instructions for their green walls.
- Ensure compliance with all OHSA safety regulations particularly when working in elevated positions or with power tools.
- Record and track all work completed, including materials used and follow-up maintenance schedules.
- Report any change order needs/requests to the Project Manager.

Heavy Travel: This role requires frequent travel to various locations for installations, maintenance, and occasional emergency situations, sometimes with limited notice. Travel may include overnight stays and long-distance driving, with potential for extended periods away from home.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in vertical green wall installation or related fields (preferred).
- Basic plumbing skills, with experience in installing and maintaining irrigation systems.
- Ability to install basic connections and troubleshoot low voltage wiring and sensors.
- Carpentry skills, with the ability to build custom structures to support green walls.
- Ability to work at heights, use safety harnesses, lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Familiarity with plant care and basic horticultural practices.
- Excellent critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site.
- Effective communication skills to consult with clients, contractors, and other team members.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy materials and working in varying environmental conditions.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation are essential due to heavy travel requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in horticulture, plumbing, or carpentry.
- Experience with sustainable building practices or eco-friendly architecture.
- Knowledge of advanced irrigation systems and plant health management.
- OSHA-10, OSHA-30, CPR, and/or other relevant safety certifications.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and remote locations.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight on installations, sometimes for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel frequently for work, including overnight stays and long-distance driving.
- Ability to work at heights and in varied weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Capability to perform manual labor in challenging environments.
