Job Purpose
The Project Manager will oversee landscape construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety policies, accurate bid preparation, budget adherence, and client relationship management. This role also involves sales and marketing activities, subcontract negotiation, and ensuring projects are completed on time and under budget.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Ensure compliance with LDI safety policies and OSHA regulations, manage bid preparation, monitor project budgets, and handle billing and collection for additional work.
- Client Management: Identify and develop client prospects, maintain client relationships, and serve as the main contact for assigned client portfolios.
- Sales and Marketing: Participate in sales and marketing functions, cross-sell services across divisions, and facilitate the sale and installation of landscape construction work.
- Team Leadership: Train and mentor project staff on company policies, project management practices, and safety and quality standards.
- Field Operations: Implement and monitor compliance with company policies and procedures for field operations, safety, quality control, and technical training.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of landscape management experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in Mac OS and Microsoft Office applications, strong sales, negotiation, team-building, and emotional intelligence skills, and practical knowledge of irrigation systems, hardscape, and plant identification.
- Licences: Valid Driver’s License.
- Work Environment: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and occasionally work in extreme weather conditions or near construction equipment. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
