The Landscape Construction Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in our company's purpose and core values. They are responsible for business development, takeoffs, estimating, and presenting proposals for the landscape construction division. This position will develop relationships, anticipate customer needs, trouble shoot problems, and close sales. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s purpose and demonstrate our core values.
As a Landscape Construction Sales Manager at Schill Grounds Management, you must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job:
1. Research and identify potential customers. Business development and networking within the commercial construction industry with key decision-makers.
2. Call on potential clients. Attend industry events and stay abreast of market trends to promote construction services.
3. Review online job boards for potential bid opportunities.
4. Solicit bid opportunities from general contractors.
5. Review construction documents and specifications to determine the scope of work.
6. Perform bid takeoffs.
7. Develop cost estimates utilizing Aspire.
8. Prepare and present proposals to clients, including engineering projects.
9. Negotiate contracts.
10. Develop a subcontractor network. Analyze subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness.
11. Conduct project hand-off meetings with the operations team.
12. Perform any other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
· Expert knowledge of landscape standards, knowledge of plant material and installation standards

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license with record acceptable to meet fleet insurance requirements
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
Proficiency in take-off software
Proficiency in industry-specific software, Aspire proficiency preferred
5+ years of landscape construction management experience
5+ years of business development or customer service experience
5+ years of cost-estimating methods
WORK CONDITIONS Expected hours during the landscape season requiring flexibility to work between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm, including Saturdays to sell landscape services. This position will require working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including rain, snow, sun, extreme cold or heat.
