Plans, designs and oversees the installation/maintenance of landscaping and irrigation under the County's streetscape program. Works with consultants to develop plans for median landscaping and irrigation systems on major County thoroughfare roadways. Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives and work plans for the streetscape program; provides support to other Departments. Supervises subordinate personnel in their implementation of program goals/objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture; minimum of three (3) years of experience in landscape architecture, including one (1) year of supervisory experience. Equivalencies: Related Associate's Degree/unrelated Bachelor's Degree; AND five (5) years of related experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience OR graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification; minimum of seven (7) years of related experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Necessary Special Requirement: Registration by the Florida Board of Landscape Architects as a Professional Landscape Architect.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Transportation enhancement; designing/installing/maintaining the beautification of roadways; conducting field inspections of related work performed; using MicroStation/Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Also desirable: College/university-level course work in Public Administration/Botany/Engineering/Planning (must specify on application).
Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Hearing loss test required for selected candidate.
