MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE: Snow Equipment Operator:
· Valid Driver's License: Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license.
· Valid Chauffeur's license (or the ability to obtain one BEFORE starting work & at your cost.) - PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THIS.
· Previous Heavy Equipment Operation experience; preferably in snow removal
Starting rate of pay for this Seasonal Role is $25.00 but depending upon your experience and licenses/certification you hold, it could go up from there.
Here’s what you’d do:
The Snow Equipment Operator must be interested in learning to do all aspects of snow removal during the winter.
You’d be responsible for:
- Removing snow using a snow plow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfall
- Being available each time it snows and report either to a central location or directly to the jobsite
- Removing snow in appropriate locations, avoiding piling it on trees, shrubs, fire hydrants or sidewalks
- Reporting any concerns or incidents to your direct Supervisor
- Filling out a job sheet as soon as you are finished working after each snow removal operation
- Participating in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for team employees and clients by adhering to company safety policies
- Being aware of safety issues or concerns, and report them to the appropriate Supervisor
- Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager
You might be a good fit if you have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to drive to a variety of work locations in assigned territory
- Reliable transportation to and from any work site
And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:
- Prior experience operating snow plow equipment
- Ability to participate in routine maintenance of equipment
- Experience working efficiently in a production-driven / fast paced environment
- Physically able to work outside, sometimes in extreme weather conditions with sporadic hours based on a snow event
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to safely operate equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Willing to dress appropriately for all weather conditions
- Able to work overnight in the winter month
- Dependability

· MDOT Medical Card: preferred candidates already have a valid MDOT Med Card - if you do not have one, you must be able to obtain one and part of the federal requirements for this card is a Drug Test.
· Previous Heavy Equipment Operation experience; preferably in snow removal
· Previous Plow or Salt Truck experience.

Here’s what you’d do:
• Snow Truck Driver will be responsible for performing all tasks related to snow removal. Shifts are on-call and range from 6 to 12 hours and are often overnight depending on the storm event. May require longer hours for larger storms. The season starts on the first snow fall.
You’d be responsible for:
- Snow Truck Driver will be responsible for performing all tasks related to snow removal, including operating snow, plow and box trucks, ATV plows, snow blowers, snow shovels and e-pokes (salt spreaders).
- Work with Sidewalk-Crews as a team to efficiently and safely complete each assignment. We emphasize high-quality service.
You might be a good fit if you have:
- 3 years of commercial experience using a plow truck or salt truck
- 3+ years of commercial snow experience using Skid-Steer, Front End Loader, Backhoe, or equivalent vehicles with plows and snow containment boxes
- 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid and clean driver's license with no restrictions (CDL is NOT required)
- Work well under pressure while observing safety guidelines
- Have a smart phone (to download and use our attendance tracker App)
- Have dependable transportation
- You must attend and pass training and a background check
- Able to lawfully work in the USA
