The Landscape Sr. Account Manager proactively manages multiple high-end residential and estate garden properties to ensure compliance with PLM design and contractual obligations. This individual is responsible for property maintenance and projects that meet customer expectations in terms of appearance, scheduling, and budget.
The Landscape Sr. Account Manager works in collaboration with the Director of Operations to handle needs within contractual and budgetary parameters, supervises activity of crews, and works closely with production staff regarding scheduling, efficiencies, quality, and customer service.
Assures all contractual services provided are of optimum quality and completed on schedule.
Maintains positive relationships with clients through professional, transparent, and timely communications on landscape service and products.
ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the profitability, client satisfaction, quality of services, and the retention of employees on assigned PLM sites.
- Provide a high level of customer service and exceptional communication, both written and verbal
- Present information in a variety of ways to gain comprehension at any level of organization or with outside clients and vendors.
- Proactively manages properties to ensure quality standards are being met.
- Actively inspects and identifies landscape problems prior to potential escalation and defines a workable resolution within customers’ needs and budgetary parameters.
- Produces billing documentation and conducts customer walk-throughs.
- Supervises to ensure that all employees are always working efficiently and safely.
- Ensures all crews are properly prepared, equipped, and functioning.
- Oversee the care of company assets in the field, vehicles, maintenance shop, field offices and customer work-sites.
- Develop strong maintenance crews through quality leadership and hands-on training to enforce proper horticultural practices to ensure services are delivered in a manner consistent with contract specifications and company quality standards.
- Meet division guidelines for customer files, reports, and other documentation.
- Provides feedback to appropriate parties regarding pricing, competition and other markets.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Represents PLM at various events, organizations, and associations for the purpose of relationship building, branding, new business generation, sales opportunities, and increasing knowledge in the marketplace.
- Stays abreast of “Best Practices” in response to market opportunities and competitor strategies to develop and recommend improved work methods and processes.
- Foster positive communications and relationships with all employees, members of management, vendors and outside customers.
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies and guidelines.
- Actively participate in and conduct meetings as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five (5) years landscaping field experience – required.
- Five (5) years of experience in property management and oversight – required.
- Degree / Certification in Horticulture or 5 years of experience in a similar or related position will be considered in lieu of degree or certification.
- Three (3) years of experience working with irrigation (repairs, installation, troubleshooting) – required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of bonsai, Japanese Maple, or other specimen plantings is a plus; natural pruning techniques experience required.
- Three (3) years of installation experience including knowledge of annual, perennial, and bulbous plants.
- Knowledge of Baseline systems is a plus.
- Current WA state Pesticide license or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days.
- Experience in leading and supervising a crew of 3-12 members and delegating tasks on site.
- Must be able to prioritize work on site and work with subcontractors toward a common goal.
- Knowledge and use of 2-cycle engines.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization as well as customers and vendors while fostering positive relationships.
- Proficient skill level in computer software including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook and Google docs.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of outdoor environment and safety precautions.
- Knowledge of plant identification common to the Pacific Northwest (PNW) and information on care and maintenance are required.
- Disease and Pest Identification and pruning techniques for PNW plants required.
- Must be able to complete work reports and punch lists in a timely and articulate manner.
- Must be able to complete weekly Garden Review Notes highlighting upcoming work and punch lists.
- Currently hold and maintain a clean Washington state driver's license and have ability to pass a background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent standing and walking for extended periods and sitting occasionally.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to recognize and identify products both near and from a distance.
- Able to extensively handle and move materials and perform physical activities - using hands, arms, and legs in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Must be able to work on a computer or at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a computer and see color and differentiate between products.
- Ability to work extended hours and in inclement weather.
