Job Summary
Big Sky Landscapes is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead its sales and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales and customer service and will be able to analyze market trends and develop effective strategies. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, a proven track record in hitting sales targets, and success in maintaining and growing client relationships.
Duties
- Sales and business development
- Track sales and submit to management for review
- Maintain all company proposals, contracts, and files in an organized fashion on the shared drive
- Utilizing our CRM to track business development and customer conversations
- Effectively communicate customer needs and preferences to Account Manager and follow up to make ensure the customer's requests were sufficiently completed by Account Manager
- Ensure new contracts are fully executed
- Implementation of new contract into Jobber and coordinate accuracy with Accounts Manager
- Inform Office Manger of new client, so they can setup any client portals for payment, and obtain W9 and I9
- Inquire about notification preferences (does client want to receive visit summaries or not, which email should they be sent to, etc)
- Notify Owner and Accounts Manager once a new contract has been fully executed and what notification preferences are and ensure the client has a professional introduction made to Accounts Manager via email.
- Produce $700,000 - $1,000,000 annually in new maintenance contracts
- Meeting with clients and preparing estimates and proposals
- Meeting with Accounts manager and showing them specifics of sold jobs onsite
- Client communication as needed
- Cold calling and prospecting in person and on the phone
- Attending networking and business development functions
- Meeting with clients including attending HOA meetings as needed
- Helping with snow removal tasks as needed, including customer communication, delivering ice melt, or any tasks needed to help the team get the job done. Hours may be excessive during snow events.
- Research and identify potential clients for our landscaping and snow removal services.
- Call on prospective clients, seek out, and build relationships with key decision-makers in these organizations.
- Work with other Big Sky Landscapes team members to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs and concerns.
- Be prepared to educate potential clients on current landscaping trends and practices.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Assisting Accounts Manager with quality checks monthly
- Answer phones during Office Manager's lunch break (weekdays from 12-1p)
- Random tasks and punch list items as they arise
Experience
- Proven experience in a sales management role, preferably within a technical or related field
- Strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market data and develop actionable insights.
- Proficiency in using Salesforce or similar CRM software for managing sales processes.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of successful deal closures.
- Experience in business development, including identifying new markets and opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience required
