Join one of Cape Cod’s most respected landscaping firms as an Irrigation Technician. You’ll join a nationwide family of companies that specializes in creating and maintaining luxury outdoor living spaces.The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution and efficiency for residential and commercial properties. The Irrigation Technician will be expected to work independently or as part of a team while adhering to safety protocols and customer specifications.Responsibilities:- Irrigation System Installation: Install new irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip systems, valves, controllers, and piping, based on project specifications.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Regularly inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems to ensure they are functioning optimally, making repairs and adjustments as needed. Including turn-ons and winterizations.
- Water Efficiency: Adjust and program irrigation timers and controllers to ensure efficient water usage, avoiding waste and minimizing environmental impact.
- Diagnostics: Identify issues such as leaks, clogs, broken components, or electrical faults and make appropriate repairs or replacements.
- System Upgrades: Recommend and implement system upgrades or modifications to improve system performance or adapt to changing property needs.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their irrigation needs, provide suggestions for improvements, and offer troubleshooting assistance.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service records, including installation details, repairs made, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations related to irrigation system installation and repair, including safe use of tools and equipment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and staff to complete larger projects and ensure systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards.
- Training & Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest irrigation technology and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications and Requirements- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications in irrigation or related fields (e.g., Irrigation Association Certification) preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as an irrigation technician or in a similar field. Experience with a variety of irrigation systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, components, and water conservation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to use hand and power tools related to irrigation work.
- Familiarity with electrical systems (controllers, timers, wiring).
- Strong communication skills, especially when working with clients or team members.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, and stand for long periods, and work in tight spaces.
- Certifications: A valid driver’s license is required. Certification in irrigation systems or related areas is preferred (e.g., Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Technician).
- Work will be performed outdoors, in various weather conditions, including extreme heat or rain.
- The role may require working on weekends, evenings, or during off-hours to meet client schedules or address urgent repair needs.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and boots must be worn when handling equipment and performing tasks.
Compensation- $27 - $35 per hour based on experience
