Description: Local garden center seeks a full time Management Team Member for the 2025 season. We want to find the right individual who is a good fit with our goals for the company, our personalities and the overall character of the nursery. Candidates must be a motivated, hardworking, individuals who are passionate about plants and people, willing to learn and take on responsibility.
This position will require you to be on your feet all day and outside in various weather conditions. Candidates must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs. Applicants should be a resourceful self-starter who is willing to be a team player but also capable of working independently. Communication skills, customer care, and managing customer and staff expectations are essential to this position. We expect that the individual will be proactive and helpful, with a can-do attitude, flexible to adjust to a dynamic work environment with seasonal demands.
Duties include but are not limited to, staff schedules, coordinating and receiving deliveries of plant material and hard goods. Coordinating with other team members to set up product displays and merchandizing, assist in loading and unloading of product deliveries as well as maintenance of product. Selling of plant material and hard goods. Monitoring plant material inventory, working with other team members to order plant material and hard goods. Performing general care of plant material and assisting cashiers and sales staff as needed.
Candidates will be required to work weekends, as needed.
Skills Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of personalities. Knowledge in plant nomenclature and characteristics of ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or greater. Horticultural degrees or training as well as previous garden center or nursery experience is a plus.
