Job Summary
The Groundskeeper, under supervision, is responsible for external grounds maintenance. Plans and administers a program of grounds and plant maintenance, including growing schedules and continued propagation through plants and cuttings. Responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the care of grasses and plants. Trims, prunes and removes scrubs, bushes and trees. Performs general janitorial duties including property inspections, landscaping and grounds maintenance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Mows, weed eats, edge and blow lawn areas weekly.
- Trims trees, hedges, and plants to maintain neat appearance and shape.
- Weeds and maintains flower beds weekly or as needed.
- Daily trash pickup in assigned areas and exterior trash bins.
- Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands building entrances.
- Inspects and reports property and grounds for deficiencies and reports them to their maintenance supervisor.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and tools after each use.
- Maintains streets, pavement, and drainage.
- Operates power washing of sidewalks and building entrances.
- During weather events may be assigned duties to service interior buildings.
- Participates with on-call duties for evenings, weekends and special events.
- Acts as service responders during emergency, weather, and catastrophic events.
- Completes all task assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
Education - High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
Experience - Six months of related experience in grounds maintenance.
Ability to - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
