Job Description:
Sust is seeking a passionate and results-driven Head of Sales to spearhead sales efforts of ChargeBot, our mobile charging system, to the landscape and lawn care industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the landscaping industry (or a related industry), a proven track record in sales leadership, and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and industry professionals. This role is critical in driving revenue growth, managing a high-performing sales team, and ensuring our products meet the needs of landscaping professionals and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership:
- Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the landscaping industry and related fields.
- Recruit, lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to achieve revenue and market share targets.
- Monitor individual and team performance, providing support and guidance to meet objectives.
2. Market Development:
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with landscape contractors, designers, architects, and equipment distributors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and customers.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
3. Customer Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Provide expert guidance to clients on product selection, applications, and installation.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively to maintain trust and satisfaction.
4. Team Training and Development:
- Train the sales team on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement strategies.
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
5. Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales initiatives with business goals.
- Develop and implement plans to penetrate new markets and expand product reach.
- Analyze sales data, prepare reports, and present insights to senior management.
6. Operational Excellence:
- Ensure efficient use of CRM tools to manage leads, accounts, and sales activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to ensure product availability.
- Support promotional events, trade shows, and industry networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience selling in the landscape products industry).
- 3+ years of sales experience in the landscape, construction, or related products industry, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of landscape products and electric equipment such as mowers, blowers, vehicles, and related items.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive team success.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics (Hubspot experience a plus).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience establishing a new product in the market is a plus.
