Clarksburg, Maryland landscape construction company is seeking a Purchaser. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and the purchase of all stocked and specialty landscape items, excluding plant material, for landscape crews. With a focus on budget, accurate inventories and profitability, the Purchaser plays a pivotal role in maintaining a healthy bottom line. - Identify potential new materials, services, and sources.
- Help to maintain the BOSS LM catalog of material and equipment rental items including their costs.
- Shop as many vendors as practicable. Evaluate availability, quality, and price (including any delivery).
- Confirm the accuracy of each order for quantity, correctness, price, and delivery details.
- When received, inspect items for count, quality, condition, and correctness, and invoices for accuracy.
- Help to maintain a system that identifies and organizes materials for each job.
- Allocate items ordered for specific jobs in BOSS LM using PO system.
- Periodically reconcile the physical count of each item to the expected 'on-hand' inventory.
- May include research, recommendations and purchases of other items from time to time.
- Help to identify challenges and implement solutions.
- Actively communicate and coordinate with other teams.
- Discuss goals, progress, and other essential information with other team members.
- Help to plan and execute the teams’ daily operational tasks.
- Other tasks, responsibilities, and duties as required to support the company.
Skills and Qualifications- Three (3) years + of experience and success as a purchaser of landscape or related materials
- Experience in the landscape construction or related industry
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus or are able to effectively communicate with those who may not speak English.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of computer software (Windows environment and Microsoft Offices, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook). BOSS LM a plus.
- A valid Maryland Drivers license is required
- Ability be flexible and adjust to changes that are a part of production
Compensation and Benefits:- $60,000 - $65,000+ based on experience
