The area of responsibility would be in the Mid-Atlantic portion of the country with a focus on Maryland, Washington DC, & Virginia.

Job Objective
Responsible for all sales and business development activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned region. Maintain existing book of business while developing agreed upon Marketing Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding the customer base in the market area. Works within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sale of organic residual products in bulk (soils, compost, mulch)
- Demonstrates technical skills in common Microsoft Office programs
- Develops monthly and annual business plan in conjunction with Vice President of Product Marketing, which details activities to follow during the month/year, which will focus the Sales Associate on meeting or exceeding goals
- Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
- Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision
- makers.
- Implement the logistics of individuals sales by working internally with support staff and
- externally with subcontractors
- Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market
- share from larger competitors.
- Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various
- solutions the company offers to their business issues.
- Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP/RFQ responses.
- Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals.
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls,
- presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory with the use of CRM Software
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are
- communicated and implemented within the team.
- Participates and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients,
- prospects and company employees.
- Participate in industry and trade groups associated with the firm.
- Travel as needed to industry conferences, trade shows, meetings, etc.

- Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of Client Satisfaction.

- Be self motivated and able to work within a variety of business development tasks.
- Work with VP of Sales, Facility Staff and Back End Support Staff to achieve sales goals and address issues as they arise.
Job Specifications
- Preferred experience green industry bulk product sales (compost, mulch, soils, aggregate)
- Educational background and experience to include turf, soil science or agricultural sciences preferred but not required
- Netsuite, Salesforce, experience preferred
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Willingness to travel and work from a variety of locations
- Spend time in MD, DC, and VA nurturing relationships with customers.
- Proven ability to achieve sales goals
- Clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Bachelors Degree preferred
Compensation
100K – 135K (based on experience) + Commission + Vehicle Allowance
