We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated individual, who is responsible, dependable, reliable and energetic, capable of contributing to the company in a positive manner. This position requires an individual who is comfortable receiving and giving direction to act as liaison between management and crew. Individuals should have experience in all aspects of Masonry work including but not limited to Patios Natural stone and Pavers, retaining walls natural stone, Dry laid and Mortared, Segmental retaining walls and other precast products, Concrete form work cement blocks, stucco thin stone veneer and full depth veneer stone work. As well as excavator and skid steer experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:
CREW MANAGEMENT—Obtain a clear understanding of tasks and expectations for each client. • Manage, supervise and instruct crew on site, delegate and outline tasks, responsible for making sure task are executed in a timely manner, provide training on as needed. • Lead by example to oversee the activities of the crew • Upholding safe working conditions, correcting unsafe working practices and enforcing use of required personal protective equipment when appropriate. • Tracking tools and equipment on site and trucks, report lost or broken tools immediately.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT—Candidate must be capable of managing a crew, project paper work and materials. • Clearly expressing to the crew, a clear understanding of tasks and expectations for the day. • Working side by side with crew while, tracking time, employees, tasks and materials accurately and legibly and completing required paper work in a timely manner on a daily basis. • Responsible for loading and unloading trucks at start and end of day making sure that tools and equipment are secure and accounted for. Other miscellaneous duties as needed/assigned.
Qualifications:
Three to five years’ experience in the field of landscape Masonry • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Strong organizational and time management skills, be self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and energetic, able to manage people and schedules to ensure maximum efficiency while building a cooperative and positive team spirit. • A valid Connecticut driver’s license is required, clean driving record preferable, CDL A plus. • Preference will be given to bi-lingual (Spanish/English) speaking candidates with good English communications skills, capable of interacting with both clients and other contractors.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
